About CashOutline
CashOutline makes free personal finance calculators that run in your browser. They exist because the numbers behind everyday money decisions, like what an interest rate really costs, what drives an insurance price, or how long savings will last, are often harder to find than they should be. Each tool gives you an answer, and the page shows you how it got there.
What's on the Site
- APR / APY Interest Converter turns nominal and effective rates into the same measure so two savings or loan offers can be compared. It works in any currency, and its examples come from Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia.
- Insurance Premium Estimator gives rough monthly premiums for US auto, term life and ACA marketplace health cover, including the 2027 premium tax credit.
- Retirement Runway Calculator projects US retirement savings, Social Security and required minimum distributions, and shows how long the money could last.
Who Runs CashOutline
CashOutline is an independent site run by a single publisher based in Thailand. It is not part of, or paid by, any bank, insurer, broker or government agency. The site is supported by display advertising, and advertisers have no say in how any calculator works or what it shows.
How We Check the Calculations
- The formula is on the page. Below every calculator, the method it uses is written out in plain language, step by step, including the parts that are simplified.
- Worked examples come from the calculator itself. Before a page is published or updated, each worked example is entered into the live tool and the page quotes the figures the tool shows.
- Official figures name their source. Numbers set by a government agency, such as US poverty guidelines, ACA subsidy percentages, Social Security benefit rules and RMD ages, are taken from the agency that publishes them (HHS, IRS, SSA or CMS), and the page links to it.
- Our own assumptions are labelled. Where a tool uses its own illustrative figures, such as the base prices in the insurance estimator, the page says so and does not present them as market rates.
- Pages are dated. Each tool page shows when it was last reviewed, so you can tell whether yearly figures are current.
What CashOutline Is Not
The calculators are educational tools. They are not financial, tax, insurance or legal advice, and they don't know your full situation. Use them to understand a decision and to ask better questions, then check important choices with a qualified professional or the provider concerned.
